With heartfelt sadness, we remember John Ingram

It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of John Ingram on New Year’s Eve, following a 20-month battle with cancer.

John joined the Ashtons family 26 years ago, at a time when we were a small, close-knit team of just 20 people. Like many, John began his journey on a front-line sales desk, building relationships with clients many of which remain strong to this day. As the business grew, John grew with it, first leading a team and then progressing into senior management. In 2015, he was appointed to a Group Director role, a milestone he achieved with great pride.

Over the past five years, John played a key role in leading the business operationally and was actively involved in the group’s three acquisitions. Today, Ashtons stands at 130 key personnel, and John was respected and loved by all who worked with him.

Throughout the last 20 months, John’s wish was that it be “business as usual.” True to his character, he continued to work while bravely navigating this devastating illness. He remained positive, cheerful, and a true inspiration to everyone around him right to the very end.

John lived and breathed our values. He was taken from us far too soon, at just 58 years of age. He was a genuine, humble human being, and his loss is deeply felt. John will forever remain an integral and enduring part of Ashtons’ history and legacy.

Our deepest sympathies and condolences are with his wife Jane, his children Hannah and Ben, and the wider family at this incredibly difficult time.
