Many companies invest in their local communities, from sponsoring the school summer fete to taking a stall at the High Street Christmas fayre. These sponsorships are a great way of supporting our local communities in brilliant causes.
At Ashtons, we have long taken part in the sponsorship of the local schools fete as well as sponsoring sports teams from football to cricket. We’ve walked the Three Peaks, we’ve jumped out of planes and we’ve supported Dogs and Dafs! Our fundraising calendar get’s booked up at the beginning of every year with fantastic events and causes. It’s out way of giving back and supporting the communities we live and work in because community matters;

However, in recent years we have taken this a step further. In the summer of 2022, we launched our Ashtons Academy.
The Ashtons Academy was launched with the long term view of hiring young, local people with a hunger to learn and a passion for property. The aim was to bring School and University leavers into our business to undergo a years’ specialist training, focused on how to become a market leading property professional as part of our academy graduate scheme. This will involve spending time in all facets of our business, from residential sales, lettings, land & new homes, marketing, asset management and sales progression, to develop a thorough understanding of the property industry.
At the end of this journey, we aim to develop these individuals further and place them into a full time role within one of our branches and departments.

The best part for me is when we can take someone with no experience in the property industry, or indeed in the workplace and shaking their hand at the end of their journey as they embark on the next step in their career with us in one of our branches. Better yet, when I see how they are flourishing in their new role, building long lasting relationships with their clients and providing extraordinary service to a vendor, a landlord, a tenant or a buyer.
"Since July 2022, we have now successfully graduated 6 members from our Academy. All 6 of those are currently working within one of our branches across the group, developing their skills further and carving out their own careers. There’s something quite special about that."
Better yet, we currently have a further three Academy members currently on their own journeys. We are always keen to hear from other local people, with a thirst for excellence, to come on board and start their own rewarding career within Estate Agency.
