Local Fun Run supporting Redbourn’s young community

The very popular annual Redbourn Fun Run was back again on 12th May, held at Redbourn Leisure Centre and is now in its eight year. Under welcome blue skies, this an annual community event had a fantastic turnout from both entrants and supporters alike with over 600 participating in the different runs.

The morning kicked off with the 1k, and followed by the 3k and 5 k runs that had runners of all ages and wide abilities, finishing with the often hilarious relay race at 12:30. This years run was themed around the 2024 Olympics, so all participants were encouraged to dress in one of the Olympic rings colours which led to a very colourful display! All runners were presented with a bespoke Redbourn Fun Run medal and trophies presented to the fastest few in each race. It was the perfect day for a picnic, which many took advantage of, with extra nourishment on hand from an array of stalls providing a variety of food and drinks to purchase.

Ashtons is proud to continue to sponsor this fantastic local event that raises funds for Redbourn Primary School, as well as The Brain Tumour Charity in memory of Emily Smith and the Amy Robinson Foundation, in memory of Amy Robinson. The two young girls were Redbourn residents who both tragically passed away in 2022 and are fondly remembered by the Redbourn community.
