Ashtons Announces Three-Year Sponsorship of St Albans Rugby Club
We are delighted to confirm a new three-year sponsorship agreement with St Albans Rugby Club, strengthening our commitment to supporting local sport and community life across Hertfordshire.
For many years, we’ve been proud to work closely with sports clubs throughout the region, helping to promote opportunities for people of all ages to get involved, stay active and feel part of something meaningful. Our partnership with St Albans Rugby Club is a continuation of that tradition, reflecting our passion for community engagement and development.
“Rugby has an incredible ability to unite people, build confidence and create lifelong friendships. As a St Albans resident myself, it’s great to see a local, grassroots club being supported. Backing St Albans Rugby Club for the next three years is something we’re genuinely excited about, and we look forward to cheering the teams on throughout the seasons ahead.”

We are thrilled to welcome Ashton's St Albans Branch into the Blue and Gold family. Their commitment to local sport and community values aligns perfectly with our club. Ashtons have committed to supporting us for the next three seasons and we cant wait to see their company logo on the 1st XV playing kit from 2026/27. About St Albans Rugby Club
Founded in 1970, St Albans Rugby Club was the first open rugby club in the city. In 1983, the club moved to its current home off Oaklands Lane in Smallford, with the clubhouse officially opened later that year by England scrum half Dickie Jeeps.
The club is known for competitive yet enjoyable rugby, played for the love of the game. It’s a place where friendships grow, families connect and the social side of sport thrives. With a cosmopolitan membership, the club welcomes players, supporters and friends from around the world. Over the years, several players have advanced to higher levels of the sport, yet many return to continue their careers or stay connected to the club.
Partnership and community impact
St Albans Rugby Club proudly carries the city’s name and remains committed to welcoming players of all abilities, along with social members who simply want to enjoy the spirit and fellowship of Rugby Union.
It’s an honour to support a club that brings the community together and we’re looking forward to many successful years of partnership ahead.
